University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy

University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy

is able to award more than 100 scholarships every year.  The number of scholarships available and their dollar amounts vary from year to year, depending on the funding received.  To be eligible to receive a scholarship, a student must be enrolled in either the Pharm.D. or Pharmacology / Toxicology degree program in the School of Pharmacy on a full-time basis during the semester in which scholarship awards are made (scholarships are always awarded in September, at the beginning of the fall semester).  To apply, a student must complete the School of Pharmacy Scholarship Application, which is available in March/April each year.

Competitive scholarships awarded by the School of Pharmacy's Scholarship Committee are awarded primarily upon information supplied by students in this application form.  The Scholarship Committee takes several factors into account when reviewing Scholarship Applications including, but not limited to, the following: academic achievement as evidenced by course grades, professional conduct, involvement in student organizations within the school and/or University, initiative and degree of effort given to self-support of the student's educational expenses, unmet financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Services, career aspirations, expected graduation date, county of permanent residency, the quality of the scholarship application essay, combinations of these factors, and/or other criteria.  Recipients are notified of their selection during the summer months and are recognized at the Scholarship Ceremony in the fall.  Scholarships are awarded once a year, but disbursements are divided equally between the fall and spring semesters.  Scholarships are awarded as funds are available (i.e., every scholarship listed is not necessarily awarded each year).
