Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship

 

The Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) is an organization under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan. As a leading organization in the provision of student services, JASSO comprehensively administers scholarship and loan programs, support programs for international students, and student life support programs. It aims to foster creative individuals who can become the leaders of the next generation of society, while promoting international understanding and exchange.

JASSO provides scholarship grants and loans to highly motivated students who have difficulty in pursuing their studies for financial reasons. In addition, the scholarship program is being enhanced to meet the diverse needs of students, application procedures are being improved, and information on scholarships is being better provided and collected appropriately.

It provides scholarships to overseas students, implements international exchange programs, improves admission procedures by administering the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students, etc., and collects and disseminates information on studying abroad.

JASSO collects, analyzes, and provides information concerning many aspects of student support services to contribute to various activities for student support at universities. It also helps universities provide better student support services through various training programs, etc.

Eligibilities

You must be under 35 years of age and a college graduate (includes prospective graduates). Or you must have completed 16 years of schooling.

You must be under 35 years of age and a graduate of a college or teacher training college. You must have at least five years of active experience as a teacher in a primary, secondary or teacher training college in your country. (Please note that college and university teachers currently in active service are not considered for this scholarship).

You must be at least 17 and under 25 years of age and have completed 12 years of school education or have completed courses in a school comparable to a high school (includes prospective graduates).

You must be from 18 to 30 years old. You must be enrolled as undergraduate students in faculties or schools which major in Japanese language or Japanese culture in a university outside Japan at the time when they come to Japan and must be enrolled in the home institution at the time when they return to their home countries.

You must be at least 17 and under 25 years of age and have completed school education comparable to a high school (a minimum of 11 years beginning in primary school) education (includes prospective graduates).

You must be at least 17 and under 25 years of age and have completed 12 years of schooling or have completed school education comparable to a Japanese high school (includes prospective graduates).

Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO)

Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) is an independent administrative institution established under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (Monbukagakusho).
JASSO comprehensively administers scholarship loan programs, support programs for international students, and student support programs. Nagoya University Scholarships Japan

Eligibility to apply:
Applicants must satisfy all the requirements below to be eligible to apply for the scholarship: 
1) Applicants must satisfy Nagoya University’s undergraduate admissions eligibility criteria for the Global 30 International Programs.
2) Applicants must submit a completed undergraduate admissions application package with the Scholarship Application Form by the respective application deadlines.

The Scholarship includes:
Tuition: The tuition will be fully-covered for 4 years.
Registration fee: The scholarship recipient also needs to pay this fee, 
but it will be reimbursed in form of monthly installment within the first year.
Annual Stipend: The total of JPY500,000 will be provided every year for personal expenses for 4 years. 
*Application fee will not be covered by the scholarship. Therefore, all applicants need to pay the application fee by the respective deadline.

Eligibility to receive scholarship: 
Applicants must satisfy both requirements below to receive the scholarship:
1) Selected recipients must matriculate at Nagoya University in the year applied, with the intention of completing the program at Nagoya University.
2) If a recipient receives additional scholarship from other governmental and/or private sources equivalent to or greater than JPY500,000 per year, s/he will forfeit this scholarship. 

Duration of Scholarship:
In principle, the scholarship will cover the four years of the recipient’s undergraduate study at Nagoya University. However, continuation each year will be contingent on the recipient maintaining the ‘Responsibilities’ –as stipulated below. Scholarships can be terminated at any time if it is found that the ‘Responsibilities’ are not being met or the recipient has not abided by the rules and regulations of Nagoya University and Japan.

Responsibilities of the Recipients: 
1) Must maintain good academic standing.
2) Is committed to being an ethical leader and role model on campus and the general community.
3) Will represent Nagoya University as a ‘student ambassador’. 

Selection:
Academic and non-academic criteria and extra-curricular activities will be evaluated together with financial need.

Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary

Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary
offers scholarships for the students who have successfully enrolled in the University by the Special Selection for International Students.
To apply for the scholarship, you need to submit the required documents together with your application of admission to the Master's or Doctoral Program. For further information, please read the latest application guide.
(1) Scholarship for Master's Program
This scholarship is only offered for inernational students who are graduates of the partner universities. The scholarship includes entrance and tuition fee waiver, and a 50,000 yen monthly stipend for up to 2 years.
(2) Scholarship for Doctoral Program
This is for international students who intend to study in the Doctral Program in Animal and Food Hygiene. The scholarship includes entrance and tuition fee waiver and an 80,000-yen monthly stipend for up to 3 years.
