The International Children’s Peace Prize 2022

The International Children’s Peace Prize is awarded annually to a child who fights courageously for children’s rights. 

The prize was launched by KidsRights during the 2005 World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates at the Capitol in Rome, chaired by Mikhail Gorbachev. Since then, the prize has been presented every year by a Nobel Peace Laureate. The International Children’s Peace Prize is an initiative of Marc Dullaert, Chairman and Founder of the KidsRights Foundation.

A study and care grant to enable the child to obtain an education

A project fund of € 100.000, which is invested by KidsRights in relevant children’s rights projects that are closely connected to the winner’s area of work.

In addition, winning the International Children’s Peace Prize gives the winner a global platform to promote their work. For example, the message of Nav and Vhiaan, the winner of 2021, reached 3.5 billion people all over the world!

Eligibilities

The nomination requirements are the following:
Any person above the age of 18 or an organization can nominate a child
The child must be between the age of 12 and 17 by the time of the nomination deadline
The child can be from any country in the world
The child must have a demonstrable history of standing up and fighting for the rights of children, including himself or herself
The child needs to be able to travel abroad and feel comfortable communicating with other people.
The child agrees to being nominated for the International Children’s Peace Prize.

Applications are already open for the Global Peace Summit 2020 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Global Peace Summit 2020 is providing an opportunity to extraordinary young, competent, and enthusiastic peacebuilders from 100+ countries to develop their ideas and road maps to achieve sustainable development goals and advocate peace in their communities to counter extreme violent, hate and every kind of discrimination. This summit aims to connect inspiring young people, to develop their skills in the sphere of peace education, to help them exchange ideas and share projects, while networking with like-minded individuals and world leaders.
This summit will also provide an opportunity to students and young leaders to bring solutions and theory on “Way forward to peaceful & inclusive world and Countering Fifth Generation War” by participating in different peace sessions, talks, group discussions and activities with international delegates and speakers.

Global Peace Summit, Malaysia will incline commencement of mutual understanding, capacity building of youth, social harmony, exposure and interaction with young brains under a single umbrella. Global Citizenship: 
Global citizenship is the idea that all people have rights and civic responsibilities that come with being a member of the world, with whole-world philosophy and sensibilities, rather than as a citizen of a particular nation or place.
Amplifying Voices of Youth: 
Collecting 1 million voices for Peacebuilding & social justice all around the globe and submitting a petition in United Nations with the charter of demand with #PeaceByDialouge.
Women, Peace & Security: 
To create lasting peace, we need women’s voices. From conflict prevention and conflict resolution to reconciliation and economic recovery post-conflict, women’s meaningful participation in peace processes increases the likelihood that an agreement will last longer than 15 years by as much as 35 percent.
Diplomats & Religious Scholars Talk: 
These sessions will bring an understanding of world efforts to resolve conflicts and their policies to counter anti-peace elements. Religious Scholars talk will shed light on role of Religion to counter rise of conflicts and terror.
Climate Action for Peace: 
The theme draws attention to the importance of combating climate change as a way to protect and promote peace throughout the world.

Yala Academy Courses for Journalism Peace and Leaders

Yala Academy brings together leading journalists and new media experts to train Middle Eastern and African youth in basic journalism techniques, photo- and video-journalism and 21st Century activism. Building upon an initiative launched in 2014 in partnership with the U.S. Institute of Peace, this online program is a unique combination of new media training and peacebuilding experience. In regions where media is too often a tool for nationalism, division and fear, YaLa citizen journalists are being empowered to express themselves and tell a very different kind of story.

International Peace Scholarship for Women

Women Help Women
The International Peace Scholarship Fund, established in 1949, is a program which provides scholarships for selected women from other countries for graduate study in the United States and Canada. Members of P.E.O. believe that education is fundamental to world peace and understanding.

The scholarship is based upon demonstrated need; however, the award is not intended to cover all academic or personal expenses. At the time of application, the applicant is required to indicate additional financial resources adequate to meet her estimated expenses. Examples of additional resources are personal and family funds, tuition waivers, work scholarships, teaching assistantships, study grants and other scholarships.

The maximum amount awarded to a student is $10,000. Lesser amounts may be awarded according to individual needs.
