This prestigious scholarship, named after the iconic Tongariro volcano, embodies the spirit of resilience and excellence. It empowers high-achieving international students like you to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate studies at one of New Zealand’s leading universities, free from the shackles of financial constraints.

Imagine yourself traversing the verdant hills and rugged coastlines of New Zealand, immersing yourself in a dynamic learning environment rich in Maori traditions and cutting-edge research. With up to 20 scholarships ranging from NZ$5,000 to NZ$10,000, the Tongarewa Scholarship alleviates financial burdens, allowing you to fully embrace your academic journey and explore the wonders of your host country.

But the benefits extend far beyond financial support. As a Tongarewa scholar, you become part of a prestigious group of high-achievers, recognized for your academic excellence and potential. This distinction bolsters your CV, opening doors to future opportunities and fostering valuable connections within the university community.

Moreover, you gain priority access to the university’s residential halls, ensuring a smooth transition and a supportive living environment right at the heart of the campus. Imagine forging lifelong friendships with fellow students from across the globe, sharing stories and experiences under the Southern Cross.

The Tongarewa Scholarship isn’t just an award; it’s an invitation to join a vibrant family, to become an ambassador for academic excellence and cultural exchange. You may be asked to participate in university events and initiatives, sharing your unique perspective and contributing to the international student community.
