The Akhuwat Fellowship Program (AFP)
provides a platform for young leaders and change-makers to unlock their potential and drive social change. In the past, our fellows have gained extensive exposure to the complex issues related to poverty, social inequality and morality by engaging with different communities through Akhuwat’s different programs.
This year the fellowship will focus on different themes and their impact on the development sector. These themes include Education, Healthcare, Human-centered design, Economics, Environment and Interfaith Harmony. Guest Speakers who are pioneers in their fields will be invited to share their expertise on these themes and encourage the fellows to develop a critical thinking approach to solve complex problems.
The Akhuwat Fellowship Program (AFP) has been running since 2011 and it provides a platform for young leaders and change-makers to unlock their potential and drive social change. Carrying forward Akhuwat’s vision of creating a poverty-free society, Akhuwat has now trained over a thousand young adults to play their part in resolving the varied and complex development challenges we are facing today. Given the current state of the country because of the COVID-19 crisis, the AFP will take place online. There will be various webinars, interactive sessions and activities as well as guest lectures from some of the top development practitioners of Pakistan which will guarantee it as a great learning experience. In the past, through the AFP fellows have gained extensive exposure to the various facets of Akhuwat via a comprehensive social development training platform. Google Hash Code Team Programming Competition
Hash Code is a team programming competition, organized by Google, for students and professionals around the world. This year’s contest kicks off with an Online Qualification Round, where your team can compete from wherever you’d like, including from one of Google’s Hash Code hubs. Top teams will then be invited to a Google office for the Final Round.
What is Hash Code?
Google’s team-based programming competition, Hash Code, allows you to share your skills and connect with other coders as you work together to solve a problem modeled off a real Google engineering challenge! In small teams of two to four, coders all over the world will tackle the first problem through an Online Qualification Round. Though this round is hosted online, teams can come together to compete side-by-side in locally coordinated Hash Code hubs. The top teams from this round are invited to join at an international Google office for the annual Hash Code Final Round.
How it works
Once you’ve registered for the contest, you’ll gain access to Google’s Judge System. The Judge System is an online platform where you’ll form your team, join a hub, practice, and compete during the rounds. During the Online Qualification Round, you’ll watch Google’s YouTube live stream to be introduced to the problem, and your team will have four hours to solve an optimization problem using the programming language and tools of your choice. Teams can compete from a local hub or another location of their choice. The top teams from the Online Qualification Round will be invited to the Final Round at a Google office, where they’ll work together to solve another challenge and compete for cash prizes.
Location: Online
Benefits
You may be eligible to receive one of the following cash prizes if you advance to, attend, and compete in the Final Round of Hash Code. The prize money specified reflects the amount each person on the winning Team will receive.
1st Place – $4,000 USD
2nd Place – $2,000 USD
3rd Place – $1,000 USD
Google may occasionally, and at its sole discretion, give away Google-branded objects, Google-related products, or other goodies (“Goodies”) to Final Round participants as part of their participation in the HC Contest. These Goodies are not prizes and must not be treated as prizes by participants. Recipients of Goodies are responsible for ensuring that they comply with any applicable tax laws and filing requirements (if any).
Eligibilities
The Hash Code Online Qualification Round is open for students and professionals of all skill levels who are at least 16 years old.
Please note there are additional age requirements for finalists.
You should refer to Google’s Coding Competitions Terms for the full list of requirements that you have to meet at the time of registration.
Application Deadline:
25.02,.2019
