The Cities for our Future Challengeis a global competition run by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in partnership with the UK National Commission of UNESCO.
They are inviting imaginative problem solvers from the wider field of surveying, urban design, architecture, and engineering to submit transformative ideas for projects and policies that solve some of the defining challenges of our time: Rapid Urbanisation, Climate Change, and Resource Scarcity.

The competition is open to anyone, apart from employees of the RICS.
They are particularly interested in hearing from young professionals, students or startups in the field of surveying, urban design and engineering, and green technologies.

Application Process
Visit the official website, choose a brief from the 3 available topics, and select one of the questions to answer. Read your chosen brief and download the entry document, then complete the entry document and submit it online.
You can enter between 09.00 GMT on 17 January 2018 and 23.59 GMT on 31 May 2018. If you enter before or after this then your entry won’t be valid.
They will announce the shortlist by 23:59 GMT on 30 June 2018, and the final global winner will be announced by 23:59 GMT on 30th November 2018.
